Welcome to the Top 10 Recipes on my blog in 2020. So I just want to start off by saying thank you! Thank you, thank you, thank you! When I started A Spoonful of Vanilla in January 2020 I had no idea that it would grow so much.

In a year where everything has been turned upside down, plans have been cancelled and families separated baking has been an escape for a lot of us. I hope you have found enjoyment in the kitchen making recipes from this blog.

I have so many exciting plans for 2021 that I can’t wait to share with you and I am already working on recipes for February and March (I have no idea where this organised Sarah has come from but I am not complaining). If there are any recipes you would like to see on my blog then please let me know either in the comment section below, on social media or by email.

I have decided as my last post of 2020 to put together my Top 10 Recipes of 2020

Biscoff Truffles

Number 1 in my Top 10 recipes list is these Biscoff Truffles! I love anything Biscoff and it seems you do too. These truffles have been my most popular recipe every day since I posted them in July.

They are so simple to make the they only use five ingredients. The centre is filled with delicious Lotus Biscoff Biscuits, Icing Sugar and Condensed Milk. The outer shell is made with Biscoff Spread and White Chocolate! Oh hello delicious! These really are the perfect snacks

Pink Gin Fudge

I have to admit I don’t drink a lot of alcohol but I do love a Pink Gin so of course I had to add it to this fudge.

Just like my Biscoff Truffles this recipe is super easy and only contains four ingredients well five if you could the food colouring.

It is so simple to make, just add all the condensed milk and chocolate to a pot over a medium heat until the chocolate has melted, add the icing sugar then pink gin and finish with some food colouring and sprinkles for decorations. Then leave it to set

Cookie Dough Showstopper Cake

This cookie dough cake really is a showstopper. Can I let you into a sevret through, I never intended on making this.

I was originally only going to make my Giant Cookie and Mini Cookies but I got my amounts wrong and ended up with far too much cookie dough and so the idea for this cake came along.

This cake has a triple chocolate chip sponge, vanilla buttercream, hidden cookie dough and chocolate ganache filling. A chocolate drip, mini chocolate chip cookies and of course cookie dough balls. The cookie dough in this recipe is also egg free and safe to eat raw.

No-Bake Tablet Cheesecake

This is the only cheesecake recipe to make it into this years top 10.

This cheesecake has a delicious buttery biscuit base. I normally use a combination of Hobnobs (an oatie biscuit) and Golden Oreo because YUM!

The filling for this cheesecake is soft cheese, icing sugar and double cream. Oh, and of course Tablet.

Depending on where in the world you live you might have never heard of tablet. I think it is only sold in Scotland but it is similar to fudge just a lot sweeter and crumblier.

Rolo Cookie Cups

This is one of my favourite ways to eat cookies, in cup form.

The cookie dough I moulded into a muffin tray. I think filled the centre with Rolos but you could use plain chocolate or any of your favourite sweets.

When they bake in the oven the chocolate centre melts so when you bite into it you have a delicious cookie and a soft gooey centre. I am already planning more of these in 2021 because they are utterly epic

Biscoff Drip Cake

A few cakes have made it into the top 10 this year including this Biscoff Drip Cake. This is the second Biscoff recipe after my Biscoff Truffles at number 1.

This cake has a light brown sugar sponge and vanilla buttercream with a hidden Bicoff drizzle, Biscoff Drip and Biscoff biscuits.

I have a few drip cake sin the top 10 and I have to say personally I love a drip on a cake. I always think they look a little bit naked without one.

Spiders Web Cake

I am not surprised that this made it into the top 10. You guys loved this recipe at Halloween.

From its colourful surprise inside to the spooky black chocolate buttercream and marshmallows spiders web it really is the perfect Halloween bake

Rainbow Drip Cake

I am so pleased this recipe made it into the top 10. It is honestly so simple to make but so effective. This is a true rainbow cake with a rainbow centre and rainbow decoration.

I originally made this to celebrate Pride Day and I shared it first in my newsletter (you can sign up here) but as this year has gone on the rainbow has also been used to celebrate the NHS and other keyworkers.

I made this again and gifted it to my mum who works for the NHS I also really wanted to bake one for my colleagues at the Ambulance Service but we aren’t allowed to share food. Hopefully, when all this is over I will be able to share it with them

M&M Caramel Shortbread

This M&M Shortbread is such a fun twist on a classic. With a homemade shortbread biscuit base, a delicious homemade caramel centre, a chocolatey top made from M&M spread and milk chocolate and of course, the only decoration possible rainbow M&Ms.

Trick or Treat Cupcakes

Finally, in at number 10 on my Top 10 Recipes, this year are these Trick or Treat Cupcakes. Halloween was such a busy time for my blog but you guys were loving these fun trick or treat cupcakes.

Vanilla Cupcakes each had a trick or a treat centre. I made my trick centre a green slime (lemon curd) and my treat cupcakes were filled with sprinkles.

One of the things I love the most about these cupcakes is that you can fill the centre with any trick or treat you want. They are so much fun to make with kids.

This year has been such a great year for A Spoonful of Vanilla. I personally have had so much fun creating all the recipes on this blog. This year I have also made so many friends and learned so much about blogging and baking in the process.

If you do have any questions about the top 10 recipes recipe or any other recipes on my blog please contact me. You can send me a DM on social media or an email. You can find all my details on the right-hand side of this page.

I hope you have been inspired to bake or try something new and I can’t wait to see you all in 2021 for lots more baking fun!
