Halloween Bark

Bark is such an easy and quick recipe, and you only need one ingredient; chocolate. The toppings are completely up to you, in fact, the chocolate is completely up to you too. You can use white, milk or dark chocolate for the base.

The chocolate needs to be melted, either in the microwave on 20-second bursts or in a bain-marie until it is smooth and there are no lumps.

Once the chocolate is melted pour onto a flat baking tray lined with baking parchment.

Sweets

You can decorate the top of the bark with any sweets and/or sprinkles you want. I went with some gummy worms, strawberry laces, M&Ms, squashies and lips and teeth.

You can add some spooky sour skeletons or some of your leftover Halloween candy. Any chocolates or sweets all work perfectly.

Setting

If the chocolate sets and has white spots this means that you have overheated the chocolate, but it will still be perfectly fine to eat.

Cutting

The bark can be either cut into individual pieces or snapped with your hands.

The number of pieces you will get from the bark will depend on so many different things, including how thick you have spread the chocolate and how big the individual pieces are.

Alternatives

Why not use half white and half milk chocolate to create a marble effect?

If you are using white chocolate split the chocolate into two or three bowls and add different food colourings.

This bark can be adapted for any occasion using any sweets you fancy.
